Johnny began his fire service career in 2001 and has served as a Captain/Paramedic since 2005. Throughout his career, he has remained committed to serving both his community and his fellow firefighters.
He has been actively involved in organized labor since 2006, serving in numerous elected labor representative roles. He currently serves as President of IAFF Local 3573, a position he has held for the past two years and previously served as President of IAFF Local 3449.
In addition to his local leadership responsibilities, Johnny currently chairs the bargaining committee responsible for negotiating the Arizona Fire & Medical Authority Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of labor. His experience includes collective bargaining, labor-management relations, contract negotiations, and advocating for the wages, benefits, working conditions, and long-term well-being of firefighters and their families.
As a member of the IAFF Health & Wellness Trust, Johnny brings the perspective of a career firefighter and labor leader who understands firsthand the importance of accessible, high-quality healthcare and the challenges firefighters and their families face in navigating healthcare and benefits.
He is committed to strengthening healthcare benefits for IAFF HWT members, protecting the long-term interests of participants, and ensuring that the Trust remains focused on providing quality healthcare and value to firefighters, their families, and retirees.
