
Brad Ridgeway began his firefighting career with the Tumwater Fire Department in Tumwater, Washington, in 1999. He was promoted to Lieutenant in 2003, Captain in 2009, and Battalion Chief in 2023. Brad also served 15 years on his local E-board, holding positions as Secretary-Treasurer and Vice President. During this time, he helped create a successful succession plan that continues to develop new leaders
within the union.
In December 2019, Brad joined his local school board, where he served for four years.He assisted the district through the challenges of the pandemic and facilitated a leadership transition aimed at making the district more accountable and sustainable. Outside of work, Brad enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He loves cooking, hunting, fishing, and camping. In summer, he can be found fishing for salmon on the Columbia River with his sons, then deer hunting in the fall. As a third-generation firefighter, Brad leads with compassion and accountability. He is deeply committed to the health and well-being of each member and their families, understanding firsthand the physical and mental health challenges they face.
